Welcome to Christopher Carter’s Veterinary Surgery
Established in 1982, the surgery employs a range of fully trained and qualified staff, including five veterinary surgeons, seven veterinary nurses and two trainee nurses. The surgery at all times adheres to the highest standards set by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and is a Tier 2 Accredited Practice*. It is also an Approved Training Centre for Veterinary Nurses.

Why choose Christopher Carter’s Veterinary Surgery to look after your pet?
     ·     As an independent practice, we are proud of our reputation for providing friendly,            high standard services.

·     A comprehensive range of services is always available.

·     We are very competitively priced, but never, ever compromise quality.

·    Our surgery is continually updated to reflect advances in veterinary medicine,            and all our staff undergo continuing education to help them keep up with the            latest developments.

·     We understand how important each and every one of your pets is to you and            your family, and that they are individuals with their own needs.

·     As a local practice, we support Southampton animal charities - for the Blue            Cross animal charity, based in Bubb Lane, West End, for example, we provide a            veterinary surgeon and veterinary nurse who perform operations in the Blue            Cross on-site theatre, and run the Blue Cross Welfare Clinic. We also help with            surgical and medical cases for the RSPCA clinic.

All clients - both existing and new - can expect a warm, courteous welcome when visiting the surgery; and can be assured that their pet will receive the highest level of care.

 **The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme

Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons logo

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK.  Through setting standards and carrying out regular inspections, the Scheme aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care. It offers peace of mind to clients of accredited practices and more informed choice to the animal-owning public.

To become accredited, practices volunteer for rigorous inspection every four years and will have met a range of minimum standards including hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, staff training, certain types of equipment and cost estimation procedures. They may also be subject to spot checks between inspections.
