Love is in the Air

Valentine’s Day isn’t just a big deal for humans… all pet owners know that.

What’s their favourite activity? Do that!

Your dog might like to go for a walk, your cat might want to spend the day having their head scratched… either way, you know your pet best, so why not set aside an hour or so for their favourite pastime?

Treat them to a new toy

Nothing says ‘I love you’ quite like the squeak of a brand new toy, after all.

You could also try making your pet a new toy. Got any spare cardboard boxes lying around? They’ll be great entertainment for your cat!

Spend some quality time together

It’s not just about spending money on toys or going on adventures… why not have a cosy night at home in front of the TV?

Give them some tasty (and healthy) treats

As it’s a special occasion, go ahead and treat your pet to their favourite dinner.

Remember that many popular Valentine’s foods and flowers are poisonous to your pets. Be sure to keep flowers out of their reach, and to avoid feeding chocolate, alcohol, sugar-free sweets, fatty foods and grapes to your pet.

Keep them entertained if you’re going out

If you’re heading out for a romantic Valentine’s meal with your partner, treat your pet to an activity feeder or a puzzle toy. These are designed to keep them entertained for longer periods of time, and they really work!

And don’t forget, if you need advice on the best treats to give your pet, or if you’re concerned in any way, give us a call today. We’ll always be happy to help.
